PDFsam Enhanced

The PDFsam brand covers a grand total of three applications. First on the list is PDFsam Basic, a tool that you can use to split, merge, extract pages, rotate and mix PDF documents. Last on the list is PDFsam Visual, a tool you can use to perform a variety of PDF editing actions. And right smack in the middle there’s PDFsam Enhanced, a commercial and modular PDF tool that’s meant to be used by professionals who need to modify, convert, review, sign, fill forms and secure PDF files.

The system requirements for running PDFsam Enhanced are: Pentium III processor or better, at least 512MB of RAM (at least 1GB recommended); 100MB of free storage space; internet connection for updates; 32- or 64-bit version of Windows, any edition from Windows XP up to Windows 10.

By default, the PDFsam setup wizard will install PDFsam Enhanced and all PDFsam Enhanced modules. Furthermore, it will integrated PDFsam Enhanced with Windows and your browsers, it will make PDFsam Enhanced the default PDF application, and more. If you’re not okay with all that, then make sure to select Advanced Options so that you can pick & choose what items will be installed.

PDFsam Enhanced has a ribbon interface that’s quite easy to navigate. The interface provides support for multiple languages, features multiple document and page view modes, and lets you choose how to open documents: in new tabs or in new windows.

As mentioned above, PDFsam Enhanced is a modular PDF application. The View Mode, which lets you open and view PDF documents, is available for free. The Create Mode, which lets you create PDF documents from Word, Excel, images, and other types of files, can be unlocked for free. The Convert Module, the Edit Module, the Insert Module, and all the other modules must be purchased, either individually or as part of a module package.

If PDFsam Basic doesn’t have enough to cover your needs and PDFsam Visual isn’t to your liking, go give PDFsam Enhanced a try. It is a commercial PDF tool meant to be used by professionals.
